While it is welcome to move towards more permanent and secure work for all university employees, there are potentially devastating consequences for current casual staff who could be left without income in 2025.

- CREATE PERMANENT JOBS
Create the 70 promised permanent positions in Enterprise Agreement now, and replace any reduction in casual staff with permanent positions. Don’t put the work on existing permanent staff. - PRIORITISE MQ CASUALS
Appoint MQ Casuals to these positions. - FLEXIBILITY FOR STAFF
Create flexible pathways to meet diverse staff needs: 0.4 FTE positions, options for 20% research for T&L positions, flexibility for students with fieldwork, and pathways for professional teachers and students completing PhDs. - LABOUR POOL FOR DISPLACED STAFF
Create a preference for casuals who have lost jobs for appointment to vacant professional staff roles or other positions across the University. - NO GTAs
No Graduate Teaching Associates, as the pay and workload are exploitative
